Projects

I like to keep my brain focused on new problems - to ideate, activate, iterate, and move on. Projects have included learning full-stack development to construct a web application, organizing a local park clean up, and ventures into entrepreneurship.

CODING - CODEUP CALENDAR

Working at a coding bootcamp exposed me to incredible technologies, but more importantly to the possibility that anyone can learn to code. Diving in myself re-ignited my love of learning and has sparked a new passion for programming that I cultivate early in the mornings before work. While at first it felt like a pipe dream, I set a goal of completing Codeup's full-stack curriculum in my personal time in order to build an application to automate a tedious part of my job. Thus, the Codeup Cohort Calendar was born!

BUSINESS - CUSTOMIZED CAMPING

As the coordinator of a 120 person backpacking program and many adventures with friends, I know camping magically brings people together. Unfortunately, it requires a lot of expensive equipment, energy to coordinate, and knowledge. Enter: Customized Camping trips - so everyone can experience the magic of camping, without the hassle. I love curating experiences for friends, and as an avid camper and passionate cook, these trips bring together my favorite things: nature, food, friends, and fires!

VOLUNTEER - CLEAN LAKECLIFF PARK

Lake Cliff Park is my favorite place in Dallas, and it's full of families, pickup basketball, hammocks, frisbee, and a lot more. Sadly, the park has collected a lot of trash in its shoreline, and new trash accumulates every day across the land. I started to pick up trash I would encounter during my walks. Then I brought along a trash bag and took walks to see what I might pick up. Now, I suit up with a big pair of rubber boots, a roll of trash bags, a few pairs of gloves, and some music. It's become my small way to intentionally improve the world around me.
